<p>Students and parents in the Classical Liberal Arts Academy have a new resource available to them day and night: the Academy Assistant, now built directly into our new Academy system.</p> <p>The Assistant is a study aid, available on every page of the Academy. When a student is working through a lesson in Latin grammar at his desk, or a mother is helping her children through classical Arithmetic at the kitchen table, help is one click away — at nine o'clock at night, on a Sunday afternoon, whenever the question arises. The Assistant knows the Academy: its curriculum, its courses, its methods of study, and the classical Catholic tradition our lessons are drawn from. Ask it to explain a point of grammar, to help untangle a difficult passage, to clarify what a lesson is asking, or to explain how study in the Academy works, and it will answer patiently — as many times, and in as many ways, as a student needs.</p> <p>What the Assistant will not do is just as important as what it will. The Assistant is a tutor, not a substitute for study. It will not complete a student's assessments, write his answers, or do the work that mastery requires — for in the Academy, the whole purpose of study is that the student himself comes to know. The Assistant explains, illustrates, and encourages; the student reads, copies, memorizes, recites, and masters. Nor does the Assistant replace the Academy's living voice: questions about enrollment, records, and a family's particular circumstances belong with our staff, who may be reached from any page through the Academy's own messaging — and the Assistant will gladly point you there.</p> <p>Like everything in the Academy, the Assistant works under the Headmaster's oversight and serves the Academy's one end: the knowledge of Wisdom and the practice of virtue.
