Curriculum

The ancient wise men upon whose teaching Western civilization was built held that seven arts were necessary for a free man to know Wisdom and live virtuously: Grammar, Reasoning, Rhetoric, Arithmetic, Geometry, Music, and Astronomy. These arts were taught by the ancient philosophers, perfected by the Catholic schoolmen, and handed down through the centuries — and their teachings remain with us today. This is the classical Catholic curriculum we study and teach in the Classical Liberal Arts Academy. While the truth of this curriculum will never change, we live in times when modern governments and institutions have established requirements that must, to some degree, be fulfilled. In the Academy, we provide students with the opportunity to satisfy these modern requirements without sacrificing the true end of education, which is the knowledge of Wisdom and the practice of virtue.
