MAT-151 · Modern Arithmetic II

The CLAA's MAT-151 Modern Arithmetic II course provides a complete study of arithmetic in 166 readable prose lessons, following the proven course of study of the classic American schoolbooks while written entirely anew for modern students. Beginning with numeration and the four operations, the course proceeds through measures, fractions, decimals, percentage, interest, ratio and proportion, powers and roots, mensuration, data and probability, and the progressions, concluding at the threshold of Algebra. Every rule is taught with its reason, memorized as permanent Memory Work, and mastered through challenging assessments. Recommended for students in grades 4-6, this course prepares students for standardized testing and the regular high school course in Mathematics, and may be completed at the student's own pace as grade-level certificates are earned.
